Jack Blocker releases the self-penned “All of Yours (To Give All of Mine)” ahead of the American Idol 2024 finale
Ahead of Sunday’s 2024 finale (5/21), American Idol’s Top 5 finalists released their original songs aka “winners singles” via 19 Recordings/BMG Nashville. The iconic, star-maker competition series’ Season 22 finalists include Dallas, Texas native, Jack Blocker.
The 25-year-old singer-songwriter releases the self-penned tune “All of Yours (To Give All of Mine,” a tribute to his wife Georgia who stuck by the singer’s side through trying times. The press release announcing the release states: “It may first read as lighthearted and breezy, but there’s an unadulterated heft to Jack Blocker’s new singalong-style single…the effortlessly tuneful song is a folk-tinged love story of the highest order: a toast to that sort of deep, truthful love only time and tribulation reveals..”
Jack almost didn’t make it past his judges audition in Nashville…until the crew intervened
Jack auditioned in Nashville, where he was living and pursuing a music career while working as a graphic designer. After auditioning with his original, “I Was Wrong,” Judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie said no. Under normal circumstances, that would have been the end of Jack’s journey on Idol. However, Luke Bryan believed in him so much, that he enlisted the help of the crew who sided with him and persuaded Lionel to change his vote to yes. Jack had already been sent away and had to be brought back.
A true dark horse, the singer who almost didn’t make the initial cut, is competing in the final with Abi Carter and Will Moseley. He could win it all on the strength of creative and daring covers such as a flip of Cher’s “Believe” and a unique take on David Bowie’s “Space Oddity.” He has also covered country classics such as Willie Nelson’s “Always on My Mind” and Hank Williams “Your Cheatin’ Heart.” The singer rocked on on Little Richard’s “Long Tall Sally” and performed the romantic “One and Only” by Adele.
