American Idol Photos Confirm Paige Anne in the Season 21 Top 26

American Idol confirms: Paige Anne advanced to the Season 21 Top 26

Although the preponderance of evidence pointed to Paige Anne being in the Top 26, American Idol has now confirmed that she did indeed make the cut, despite the judges eliminating her during the Showstopper round.

American Idol left Paige off the Top 26 list at the end of Monday’s Showstoppers part 2 episode. Instead, they showed her elimination after a sing-off against Megan Danielle in front of judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan.

Despite singing a beautiful rendition of “Easy on Me” by Adele, the judges let her go, and fans were REAL MAD about that. However, folks who have been following spoilers all season knew that Paige Anne had indeed advanced to the Top 26, despite the show not confirming it.

But now, it’s official. The Disney Press site uploads photos ahead of every episode. And there she is–two photos among pics of her fellow Disney Aulani Hawaii round part 2 contestants. She was included in a second group mentored by Noah Cyrus that will air Monday April 17. Allen Stone mentored group 1. That episode will air Sunday April 16.

A spoiler list, now confirmed by the Disney press site, detailed which contestants performed on which night and their song selections. The spoilers also revealed the celebrity mentors and who they worked with. Check it out:

Although Paige Anne is confirmed as Top 26, questions remain

Still not confirmed: That Beckett Rex made the Top 26 and then left the competition, although photo evidence STRONGLY points to the identity of the redhead in the group photos as the singer songwriter. Beckett is the son of British actor, Malcolm McDowell.

The show has also not disclosed why the Top 26 changed after Showstoppers. During Paige’s episode, host Ryan Seacrest will PROBABLY make a super-quick and vague announcement in a voice over that a singer left the competition and that Paige took their place. American Idol will NOT address the identity of the singer who left or WHY they left the competition. After next week, maybe Beckett will explain why he is no longer in the competition. Or maybe he won’t.

The two part Showstoppers round featured singers performing in front of the judges and a live studio audience for a spot in the Top 24. But at the end of the episode 2, when fan favorite contestants Colin Stough, Iam Tonga and Matt Wilson faced the judges to learn which of the three would nab the last spot….surprise! The judges announced that all three advanced, transforming the Top 24 into a Top 26. Of course, those following TheIdolPad.com spoilers knew about that little twist as well.

The American Idol two night Top 26 round, in which the show filmed at the Disney Aulani Resort in Hawaii, airs on ABC Sunday April 16 and Monday April 17 at 8 pm ET/PT. Public voting begins! YOU determine the Top 20. Download the American Idol app and make sure to sign up to vote at ABC.com.
