American Idol contestant Alanis Sophia survived the Genre Challenge and Duets during Hollywood Week. Now, she performs in the Showstoppers round, hoping that judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan select her for the Top 24.
The young singer was named after Alanis Morissette, and in this new preview clip, she belts out a rendition of the 90s singer-songwriter’s hit “Uninvited.” After she finishes, Luke utters a single word, “Wow!”

Nineteen year-old Alanis is originally from Puerto Rico, and now resides in Florida. She then went on to sign with Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Label as a Latin country artist. She worked with several producers and didn’t really have a clear direction. She wrote over 100 songs, none of which were released due to this lack of direction, and they parted ways.
