American Idol season 3 alum, Leah LaBelle, and her husband, ex-NBA player, Rasual Butler, were killed in a single vehicle car accident in Studio City California early Wednesday (Jan 31) morning.
In the wake of the young singer and her husband’s untimely and tragic deaths, many of Leah’s fellow Idol alums took to social media to share their thoughts.
Many of Leah’s fellow season 3 alums: Fantasia, Diana DeGarmo, Jasmine Trias, LaToya London, George Huff and Jennifer Hudson posted heartfelt tributes to their friend.
Season 10’s Pia Toscano and season 6 winner Jordin Sparks also sent condolences. Paula Abdul, who chose Leah as her wildcard pick when she was a judge that season, posted an emotional message.
Also, Glee’s Amber Riley posted a sweet Instagram pic of her, Leah and Jordin Sparks during happier times. And Pharrell Williams, who was Leah’s mentor during the time she was signed to Epic Records, Pharrell Williams also posted a loving message. Additionally, the official American Idol twitter account sent condolences to Leah’s friends, family and many fans.
Leah and Rasual were too young to leave this world. May they rest in peace, and may their friends and family find comfort.
