The Voice Ratings Inch Past American Idol on Monday
This week (Sun Apr 2-Sat Apr 8) American Idol and The Voice went head-to-head on Monday for the first time! Who came out on top? The Voice bested American Idol by the tiniest of margins in the demo: 0.54 vs 0.53 for American Idol. The numbers are low for both shows. The previous Monday, The Voice earned a 0.60 in the demo. Perhaps American Idol and The Voice split the audience. Or it’s possible that the NCAA Basketball final on CBS which blew the competition away with 3.73 rating and 14.7M overall viewers pulled viewers away from both shows.
American Idol on Sunday ratings were even with the week before, earning the sho a 0.65 rating. However, The CMT Awards on CBS won the demo for the night with a 0.70 demo and 5.6M viewers.
The Voice hit a Tuesday season low with a 0.43 rating in the demo. The Voice won’t air another Tuesday episode this season until the finale in May.
The Masked Singer fell this week to a 0.60 rating in the demo and 3.7M overall viewers. Again, Survivor won the demo for Wednesday with a 0.71 rating and 5.1M overall viewers. Impressive numbers for a show that’s been on the air over 20 years–and STILL airing 2 cycles a year!
