Nick Fradiani was crowned the American Idol winner at Wednesday night’s finale, prevailing over fellow Top 2 contestant Clark Beckham.

Along with a record contract with Big Machine Label Group, Nick’s coronation single, titled “Beautiful Life” will be used during coverage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015, starting June 6 on FOX. The song entered the Top 10 shortly after the finale wrapped. It’s the first single this season to chart in a significant way on iTunes.

During the finale broadcast, Idol mentor and Big Machine CEO, Scott Borchetta mentioned that Nick will perform at the CMA Music festival, and present at the awards show in November. Pretty exciting stuff! In the meantime, Nick will be flying to Nashville with Scott to begin work on his album immediately. In July, Nick will head off on tour with the rest of the Idol Top 5.
