Songs for a New World is a moving collection of powerful songs

From the Gateway website:

This musical from Tony Award winner, Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Bridges of Madison County), is a moving collection of powerful songs that examines life, love and the choices that we make. From the deck of Spanish sailing ship to a Penthouse on Fifth Avenue, audiences meet a startling array of characters at the crossroads of discoveries and life changing decisions. It’s about one moment. It’s about hitting the wall and having to make a choice… or take a stand… or turn around and go back. An exquisitely crafted score that runs the gamut of today’s popular music, performed by a powerhouse multi-ethnic cast will make this an experience to remember. These are the stories and characters of today, the Songs for a New World.

For those considering attending the production, the Gateway is not requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination to attend, but asks unvaccinated audience members to wear a suitable face mask indoors at all times as per New York State regulations.

Alyssa set for “A Night at the Theatre” on August 5

In other news, the Kentucky native will also appear at the Boyle County Performing Arts Center on August 5 in a concert billed as “A Night at the Theatre with Alyssa Wray.” The new theater is affiliated with the Boyle County High School theater arts program. Alyssa and a few of her pals will be christening the venue.

“When I was in school, my peers and I so badly wanted our own theatre to perform shows in like others schools had,” Alyssa wrote on Instagram. “After many years of planning, construction, waiting, and more construction, the theatre is finally finished!!! I am so honored that I am able to come back and officially open the theatre that I had dreamed of for so long while I was in school.”

Tickets are only $20 and can be purchased HERE.
