Oh no! Casey Abrams ended up in the hospital last week. “I’m blessed to have such caring people around me. Thanks to my family and friends for the love,” he wrote on social media alongside a few photos from his hospital room. “My colon started acting up, been here since Monday and now I’m feeling better! #uc.”
The American Idol season 10 alum had many well wishes in comments from his friends:
James Durbin, who competed on his season wrote: “Duuuuuuuude I’m so glad to hear that you’re doing good though. You’re in my thoughts. Sending you only good vibezzz”
Blake Lewis from season 6 wrote, “Glad you’re feeling better buddy!”
Season 14 winner Nick Fradiani wrote “Sorry to hear brother feel better!!”
Joey Cook, also from season 14 left a heart emoji.
Remember CeCe Frey from the X Factor USA? She wrote “Ah sh– I’m sorry dude! Hope you’re doing OK!
Former American Idol musical director, Michael Orland, left a bunch of emojis including a heart and prayer hands.
In fact, a bunch of blue check mark types weighed in, and I’m sure people in comments will fill in the blanks. Heh.

In another post, Casey joked when asked what happened to him. “Uh, you know, I just played my bass a little too hard! I caused an earthquake, and now I’m here!”
That’s the upright bass he’s talking about. When he performed on American Idol, the upright bass, along with his jazz chops, set him apart from the other contestants.

In another post, Casey promotes a new jazz album. “Me and my buddies made a Jazz album. @hausmusicproduction @balam_garcia and @qmzigler decided to get together and record some jazz standards. These are all basically first takes, it’s like you’re in the middle of one of our jam sessions.”
Casey is constantly releasing new music, including collabs with other artists. Earlier this year, he release an album Constance Stars, with singer Sam Stokes.
He also recently released a set of karaoke piano covers. He’s certainly prolific. Also in 2022, Casey toured Europe with the retro outfit, Postmodern Jukebox. In January, they posted a cover of The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face.”
