Casey Abrams is back in the hospital for the third time since early September, yet he remains upbeat. “Back in the Hospital – 3 times the charm!” writes Casey on social media. “Grateful that my parents could fly in to take care of me!” The caption is posted alongside photos of a smiling Casey in the hospital along with his parents Ira and Pam. “I love you so much!”
He has tagged his posts with ulcerative colitis, which is a chronic disease of the colon. According to the Crohn’s & Colitis foundation, Ulcerative Colitis is “a chronic disease of the large intestine, in which the lining of the colon becomes inflamed and develops tiny open sores, or ulcers. This condition is the result of your immune system’s overactive response.” Symptoms include “diarrhea, bleeding, and abdominal pain” and can also be reduced and controlled with effective medication. The website says that “Ulcerative colitis can occur at any age, though most people are diagnosed in their mid-30s.” Casey turned 31 in February.
Get well soon, Casey!

On September 21, Casey reported his second hospital trip with photos and caption, “I was let out of hospital for 5 days, but my colon told me I wasn’t ready.” He added, “I am back here again for another stay and very grateful to all my doctors and nurses fixing me for the long run. Wish I could see family, friends and supporters sooner and will update you on how I am with my Ulcerative Colitis.”

Meanwhile, Casey maintains a busy music career as he navigates his health issues.
In a post, Casey promoted a new jazz album. “Me and my buddies made a Jazz album. @hausmusicproduction @balam_garcia and @qmzigler decided to get together and record some jazz standards. These are all basically first takes, it’s like you’re in the middle of one of our jam sessions.”
Casey is constantly releasing new music, including collabs with other artists. Earlier this year, he release an album Constance Stars, with singer Sam Stokes.
He also recently released a set of karaoke piano covers. He’s certainly prolific. Also in 2022, Casey toured Europe with the retro outfit, Postmodern Jukebox. In January, they posted a cover of The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face.”
