David Cook dropped a new single “Death of Me” last month ahead of an acoustic tour. Now, the American Idol season 7 winner debuts a brand new lyric video for the tune on VEVO.
“It’s the first new song I’ve written since my run on Broadway in Kinky Boots and I’m really excited about it,” David told the CTPost. “It’s just another step forward in the evolution of my sound.” He added, “I made a conscious effort to try some different things with Chromance. I think it’s just another extension of that.” Chromance is the singer’s latest EP, released earlier this year.
The video for the mesmerizing new track features creepy skeleton imagery to highlight the song’s dark, menacing theme. “Death of Me” is available everywhere now.
“A lil lyricalness for your post-Thanksgivingness!” David cheekily wrote on Twitter while sharing the clip.
