On the day that the American Idol season 19 finale aired, the season 3 winner, Fantasia Barrino, gave birth to a baby girl!
The singer and her husband, Kendall Taylor welcomed their first child together, Keziah London Taylor on Sunday May 23. The singer shared the happy news on Instagram. Fantasia is also mom to Dallas (9) and Zion (29). Taylor is dad to Treyshaun.
“The Elephant is the animal I chose to surround @keziahlondontaylor with because it represents patience, strength, power and remembrance,” Fantasia wrote alongside of a maternity photo of her with an elephant. “Just a few of the qualities that her presence has brought into our lives and this world. We were patient waiting on you to enter this world and we will always remember the strength that it took for me and @salute1st to create something as powerful as your life itself.” She added, “Happy Birthday to our little Angel 5-23-21 and may God keep and cover you for the rest of your days!

On his Instagram, Kendall wrote Sunday, “Today I experienced something that rewrote my personal definition of a Black Woman. To observe my Queen @tasiasword bring my little Angel @keziahlondontaylor into this world elevated my understanding and sense of pride, respect and admiration for black women…Happy Birthday to my little Kezzy Bear!”

On Saturday (May 22) Fantasia posted a video taken at what looks like an elaborate baby shower. “IT WAS SIMPLY BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS OMG!! I’ve watch the Live over and over and have cried every time.”

During her pregnancy Fantasia discussed the difficulty she had becoming pregnant. At one point, she needed to be hospitalized due to complications. “Good morning. We’ve been in the hospital all day,” she said. “We have to stay in the hospital for a while. My baby girl thinks she’s missing something out here, but she’s got to stay in here a little longer,” Fantasia wrote on Instagram. The singer only needed to be under the doctors’ care for a few days, however.
