Pregnant Fantasia has revealed the gender of her baby. The American Idol season 3 winner announced on Tuesday that she is expecting a daughter with husband Kendall Taylor.
The singer delivered the news in a video posted to Instagram Stories. Fantasia and Taylor can be seen watching pink fireworks burst in the night sky.
“It’s A Girl,” Fantasia confirmed in an Instagram post, alongside a photo of a cardboard cutout of a cartoon baby sitting on top of a pink balloon.

The baby girl will be the first for the couple. Fantasia has two children from previous relationships–Dallas Xavier, 8, and Zion Quari, 19. Kendall has a son named Treyshaun.
Fantasia announced her pregnancy in late November while speaking about her fertility issue during an Instagram Live session with her husband. Recalling the story of Rachel from the holy scripture, Barrino said she started “to pray like Rachel” in hopes of expanding her family.
“Keep trying and you will conceive,” the singer said, before standing up to reveal her baby bump. Fantasia revealed that a closed fallopian tube made it difficult for her to become pregnant. “God I want to thank you! You gave us a seed even when the doctor said that one of my tubes were closed you said different,” Fantasia worte.
