American Idol’s Haven Madison Drops HUGE Announcement!

American Idol alum Haven Madison delivers big news: She’s writing a record after signing a record and publishing deal

Teen singer-songwriter Haven Madison has dropped some big news on social media. Nearly a year after finishing in 7th place on American Idol season 21, Haven announced on social media that she’s writing a record. This, after she signed a record and publishing deal with 19/BMG.

“I am so excited for this new chapter and can’t wait to take you guys on this journey with me!” Haven wrote alongside a video of her big announcement.”

Haven posted a series of photos a few days before the CMA Awards which took place on November 9 in Nashville. A few days ahead of the ceremony, on November 7, she performed for a pre-CMA Awards event at the Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville alongside season 19 winner Chayce Beckham and season 20 runner-up HunterGirl.

“SIGNED sealed and delivered!” Haven announced

In the November 7 post, Haven simply wrote “SIGNED, sealed, delivered” while tagging BBR Music group, BMG and 19 Recordings. BBR Music is a record label under the BMG umbrella which signs mostly country artists. Chayce Beckham, HunterGirl, season 21 winner Noah Thompson and season 23 finalist Colin Stough are signed to the label. 19 Recordings is the record label arm of American Idol.

In her most recent post (Nov 26) Haven wrote alongside clips from a showcase performance, “Huge thank you to my incredible label and everyone who has believed in me along the way. I’ll be sharing sneak peeks of what I’m writing in the coming weeks.”

Haven performed an original song for her American Idol audition

Sixteen year old Haven kicked off her audition with an original song, “Fifteen.” Her father, Jason Roy, who accompanied Haven on guitar, is the lead singer of the Grammy nominated Christian contemporary music group, Building 429. The song, an intelligent and heartfelt meditation on the impatience of youth, is arranged impactfully, slowly building to a crescendo. “What if I want it now, What if I’m not the same, What if it’s all a game.” It’s universal stuff.

All three judges–Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan–said yes, advancing her to the Hollywood Round. She passed every round all the way to the Top 7 where fans eliminated her. Still, 19 Records featured the young singer at a CMA fest label showcase last summer, which indicated they were interested in signing her.

American Idol introduced fans to Haven at LAST year’s CMA Awards, when she was one of three contestants vying for a Platinum ticket in the first vote of the season. Contestant Elijah McCormick nabbed the ticket after an overnight vote.
