A rom com starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Hudson that takes place in the 90’s? Yes. This exists. The Netflix movie Sandy Wexler premieres on the streaming service April 14. Sandler plays the titular character, a Hollywood agent that discovers a singer played by the American Idol season 3 alum.
The official music video for the song “Mr. DJ” features rapper Ma$e Music and plenty of “highlights” from the film. The character Jhud plays is discovered in some sort of theme park, which isn’t far from the singer’s own history. Before competing on American Idol in 2004, Jennifer sang on Disney Cruises. Pretty sure she didn’t have to dress as a swan, though.
