LOOK WHO’S BACK! Dr. Pepper just dropped a hilarious new Lil Sweet ad featuring Justin Guarini.
The American Idol season 1 runner-up began playing the tiny over the top fella in 2015. Dr. Pepper retires him for a bit, but can’t resist bringing him back from time to time.
In the new spot, the dude with the crazy hair and even crazier falsetto offers a Dr. Pepper as a reward for just about…anything! Do a crappy job hanging a big screen TV? Here’s a Dr. Pepper! Pick up the kids from school…but 20 minutes late? Parenting is hard! Finally use that exercise bike…to fold the laundry? Good for you! Drink up.
“So sweet/Unique/I bet you’ve done something that deserves a Dr. Pepper!” And that something could literally be anything! My fav: “I just passed this test to prove I’m not a bot!” Lil Sweet sings, “Not a bot? So hot!” Tag line: The one you deserve!
Usually Lil Sweet is extolling the virtues of Diet Dr. Pepper, but this time around, he’s handing out the original version. Also, the dad has appeared in other spots (Check out a best of real at the bottom of the page.)

Apparently, the spot premiered during Monday night’s (Jan 10) college football national championship game. “Lil’ Sweet is BACK y’all!” Justin writes on Twitter. “I’m not saying that 100% of National Championship Lil’ Sweet commercials lead to a #Bulldogs win, but…”
