American Idol’s Lee DeWyze, ‘Breakdown’ Lyric Video, New Album News

A new album from American Idol season 9 winner Lee DeWyze, tentatively titled Paranoia is set to be released February 16 on Shanachie Entertainment.

The first single, titled “Breakdown,” about a relationship that isn’t what it seems has a brand new lyric video. Check it out below.

Lee told Billboard magazine in a recent interview that the idea came to him one day when he was at home with his guitar and evolved into the tale of a souring partnership.

“For me, making this album was all about exploring what felt right for each song in that moment,” he told Billboard, the title taken from a track on the set. “It’s a combination of storytelling and emotion meets music. I never want to get bored with what I’m doing in the studio, but this was a way for me to keep things me, while stepping outside of myself to create something new. I produced this record with Nico Grossfeld, who I have been working with for quite some time. I believe it’s very important that those working with you fully understand you musically, and he does. So it makes for a very good combination. I wrote all the songs on Paranoia, with each song coming from a different headspace while keeping them all cohesive. I’m just excited for everyone to hear what I’ve been doing in the studio.”
