American Idol’s Lee DeWyze Drops Moody “Bridges” (Audio)

Lee Dewyze Bridges Single

American Idol season 9 winner Lee DeWyze releases a moody new song titled “Bridges” ahead of his return to the show that launched his music career.

The lyrics go “Now the airs as thin as paper, that’s been buried by the snow/And it serves as a reminder that we’re only flesh and bones/Maybe we can’t live forever, maybe we just want to go home

I’m on the edge, on the edge, on the edge/Out on the ledge, on the ledge, on the ledge/Heart don’t fail me now”

Lee is returning to American Idol to mentor Season 20 contestants through the Hollywood Week “Genre Challenge.” He will work with the Folk/singer-songwriters group. Other American Idol alums joining him are Ruben Studdard (S2 winner), Jordin Sparks (S6 winner), David Cook (S7 winner), Lauren Alaina (S10 runner-up), Haley Reinhart (S10 2nd runner up) and Chayce Beckham, the current champ. The episode airs on ABC Monday March 28.

Last year, Lee released his latest album, Ghost Stories, which he described as an album that could be listened to from beginning to end, “straight through, like a book,” he told The Fairfax County Times. “For me, these songs felt like these 10 chapters, and people can kind of just scroll through them.
