“I wrote this song about 2 weeks into quarantine back in March of 2020,” Nick Fradiani wrote on Instagram about his brand new song “Never Gonna.” He added, “Playing this song really feels good, and I hope you feel that way when you hear it!”
The American Idol 2015 winner wrote that it “feels so good to finally share with everyone.” The new song comes on the heels of “Your Eyes” released in March.
But while “Your Eyes” was an emotional ballad, “Never Gonna” is just just as passionate, but also upbeat. Nick shares that he wrote the song with Nicholas Abraham on FaceTime about a week into the pandemic back in March of 2020.
“The song basically wrote itself in less than an hour,” Nick says, “The recording on the other hand took much longer. We went back and forth and had plenty of versions, but I’m so happy we never gave up on it and kept working towards the sound we wanted. ” Nick Fradiani Sr. plays bass on the track.
