American Idol season 15 winner Trent Harmon has married his long time girlfriend Kathleen Couch. The couple wed on September 6 at the Davidson County Courthouse in Nashville, Tennessee.
“Eight year post in the making,” Trent wrote on a Facebook post announcing the news. Kathleen wrote “Being your wife has been so much fun,” alongside a couple of sweet photos on Instagram.
The country singer released his post-Idol album, You Got ‘Em All in 2016, with many of the deeply personal songs about his the ups and downs of his relationship. The title song “You Got ‘Em All” was about the heartbreak he felt when Kathleen moved overseas for a job.
At the album’s release, Trent told People, “I’d call it uncharted territory,” he said. “We don’t want to be with anybody else. I don’t want to be with anybody else. She doesn’t want to. But I can’t tell her to not go back to Thailand and teach. … She can’t say, well, it’d be nice if you wouldn’t tour … So neither of us are holding each other back from accomplishing anything. Like I said, it’s uncharted territory. It’s weird. It’s a weird place in our relationship.”
But Kathleen did come back from Thailand, and eventually the couple had their happy ending. Congratulations to them both.
