In the latest America’s Got Talent sneak peek, Ukrainian shadow dance troupe, Verba Shadow perform a routine that tells a heartbreaking story of love, war, and life.
The members of Verba Shadow met nine years ago at University when the group’s leader assembled them for a talent contest. The group did not win, but Verba Shadow has been a group ever since. The dance troupe tells stories through movement and special effects, all done in silhouette.

The love story at the center of the routine, which will be featured on Tuesday’s (June 24) America’s Got Talent, is at least partly inspired by the romance between the group leader and a fellow group member. They met, and became friends, but eventually their relationship blossomed into romance. An engagement, and then marriage followed.
The story follows a young couple who marry and have a child before war tears them apart. Watch the Verba Shadow Theater’s heartbreaking love story below.
Verba Shadow Theater has competed on Ukraine’s Got Talent, Romania’s Got Talent. America’s Got Talent airs Tuesday at 8 pm on NBC.
