The America’s Got Talent Live Shows kicked off Tuesday night with 12 acts performing for YOUR votes (Read the Recap)! On Wednesday, 7 acts will move on to the semi-finals. Plus America will have the chance to save a contestant sitting on the bubble.
I thought tonight’s show was underwhelming. For instance, the best singers appeared on the Wildcard show streaming on Peacock. I don’t understand why Peter Rosalita made it over teen rocker Dylan Zangwill. Judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara complimented many acts for “stepping it up.” But there really was no huge standout.
For instance, Madilyn Bailey transformed into an ordinary Youtube cover artist with her choice to cover David Guetta’s “Titanium.” Yes, the song went instantly viral when she posted it on Youtube. But presenting herself as a quirky and clever songwriter in her audition set her apart from the rest of the singers.
However, Sofia’s Golden Buzzer, Jimmie Herrod, did end the show in a very dramatic fashion with “Pure Imagination.” And I did enjoy 1achord’s gospelized arrangement of REM’s “Everybody Hurts.”
