The end of FAKE America’s Got Talent audiences is near! The series is soliciting requests for the LIVE shows that begin on August 10 and run through September 15. The episodes will take place in AGT’s usual venue for live shows, the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
All audience members MUST be vaccinated
But just like The Voice, which is inviting fans back into the studio for the Season 21 Blind Auditions, there are MAJOR caveats. Audience members can be as young as 12 years old, but every single person let into the theater MUST BE VACCINATED against COVID-19. Yes, that means even the teenagers for whom only the Pfizer vaccine is available.
An audience member is considered fully vaccinated after two weeks have passed after the second dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two weeks after the one dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. To be eligible for the first day of taping on August 10, fans must have their first Pfizer/Moderna shot no later that 6/30 and the one shot J&J no later that 7/27.
Audience members must arrive with with proof of vaccine and a valid ID.
Live Show Audience members MUST wear masks (unlike the FAKE audition audience!)
Masks are still required to be worn by all audience members, which is weird considering the taped auditions feature a maskless audience sitting shoulder to shoulder. Of course, the audience is FAKE–digitally added to the edit. The actual audience for the auditions were very limited–mostly crew members who were FOR SURE masked.
Won’t the average viewer wonder why the live show COVID 19 protocols are stricter than the auditions that aired months before when COVID was more dangerous? Or maybe fans prefer the fantasy of a pre-COVID looking crowd, even if they know better? Broadcast networks were already losing audiences to streamers. But the COVID pandemic accelerated the bleeding. Because who wants to be watch TV and be reminded of the pandemic?
In any case, if you live in Los Angeles or plan to visit in August/September, sign up to be contacted for tix to the America’s Got Talent 2021 live shows at OnCameraAudiences.
