First things first! Tuesday’s America’s Got Talent (June 15) will only air for an hour at 10 pm ET/PT. That’s in order to make way for NBC Sports special 2 hour Tokyo Olympics swimming trials. Next week, AGT will be back at its regular 2 hour 8 pm ET/PT start time.

Having said that, I suspect NBC will drop only one early audition of the eight acts featured on Tuesday’s show. And that act is the singing trio T.3.

The New York City trio explain to judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara that they met after watching each other’s Youtube videos. They got together and have been practicing weekly for “14 months now.” One member further reveals that the singers have been practicing in a staircase for a year, and that America’s Got Talent is their first big stage.

Broadway Boy Band

The track’s opening rock riff doesn’t prepare the audience for what happens next. The boys begin belting “Into The Unknown” from the Disney animated film Frozen II in a most impressive Broadway style. They are the first Broadway Boy Band I’ve ever seen.

In the old days, Simon would have sneered at their Broadway sound. But I suspect he’ll deliver an enthusiastic yes to T.3. All three dudes can sang.

Some background…

Friends Liam Fennecken, Brendan Jacob Smith and Jim Hogan started singing covers of songs just for fun in December, according to OurMidland. Fennecken and Hogan have been part of national tours of Broadway shows, with Fennecken staring in productions including American Idiot, Once and School of Rock while Hogan was in Phantom of the Opera, Spring Awakening and Waitress. Their TikTok version of the song went viral (T.3 is short for Tik Tok Tenors).
