America’s Got Talent 2024 Auditions: Creative Australian Dance Crew Brent Street earns Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer
America’s Got Talent Season 19 auditions continued after a week off with the fourth audition episode. A variety of entertaining acts auditioned with some unique ones being in the mix, including Brent Street, a dance crew from Australia that closed the show and earned Howie Mandel’s first Golden Buzzer. The judges met 17 year old Zach from Sydney, Australia. He confessed that he had never performed in front of so many people, and that his first phone call would be to his mom if the performance went well.
The lights go dark, and he starts performing to NF’s “Hope.” But shockingly we see an arm pop up under the fabric he performs on, and then we see even more arms. The group loses the fabric, and the lights come on revealing the full group on stage. The routine was fierce and intense. It was well thought out, as many of the dancer’s movements are synchronized and included some impressive lifts. It all ended with Zach jumping off the stage. All four judges applauded and stood.

Heidi Klum called it “very exciting,” saying “it was something we haven’t seen before.” Sofia Vergara said her favorite part of AGT is dancers, adding, “the beginning was spectacular and the rest was as good as the beginning.” She called it the “coolest thing” she saw all day. Simon Cowell called it a “well-thought creation,” adding “even though there’s a lot of you, it was almost like it was just one.”
Howie hid under the judges table saying, “I thought everything you did was amazing, it was a surprise,” and he appears from under the table to hit the golden buzzer, sending Brent Street straight to the live shows.
Brent Street gave my favorite golden buzzer audition of the season so far. I think it’s likely they will make the finals. Other compelling acts included former record deal singer Stephanie Rainey who auditioned with the emotional song that made her viral, “Please Don’t Go,” Jo De Rijck’s mind reading chicken who gave a unique spin on a magic act, and although not my favorite song choice, L6, a family singing group, has all the tools to go far.
