Meanwhile the pop and R&B singer is keeping a positive attitude. “i love everyone on my team and the way they’ve worked so hard and shown so much love throughout this process.” Avalon wrote on Instagram. She’s raising money for medical expenses via a GoFundMe. After her story went viral, Avalon raised nearly $80,000 of a $100,000 goal.
Fun Fact: After Avalon’s story became public, former American Idol judge Harry Connick Jr. reached out to her. The phone call was from an unlisted number, and she wasn’t sure if somebody was playing a joke or not! But she quickly realized the call was real. In this interview, she gushes about Harry’s call and how much it meant to her.
