R&B singer Avery Wilson, who competed on The Voice season 3 in 2012 has come out as bisexual.
Avery was only 16 when he became a member of Team Cee Lo Green. He was eliminated in the Knockout Rounds, which had some fans up in arms. Later, he signed a deal with RCA Records and returned to the show during season 8 to debut his single, “If I Have To.”
The singer made the announcement via Twitter, on July 18, his 25th birthday. “I’m bisexual. OK bye,” he wrote.

While Avery received a bunch of congratulator tweets, there were also those who questioned his bisexuality.
“I don’t trust bisexual men. Neither would any woman that is heterosexual,” read one response. “Sorry but bisexual men are not as acceptable as bisexual women, especially if they are too effeminate.”
“I wish guys could just be honest and say they’re gay, but we gotta do the bisexual in between step first. OK,” wrote another
Avery responded: “There is no in between for me sir. I like woman and men! The bus stops here, stop trying to paint your narrative on others. WHO’S NEXT!?”
There is no i between for me sir . I like woman and men ! The bus stops here stop trying to paint your narrative on others . WHOS NEXT !?

Avery asks one hater to stop compartmentalizing people.
Sounds good but just imagine if that is really not the honest truth ! Stop compartmentalizing people !

There were also the expected tweets from Christians, imploring Avery to find Jesus:
Well I salute your courage, however, this act could be injurious to your health and not end well. Do you know there is a more interesting & befitting life that is readily available for you. It is a Life in Jesus Christ, who died for you

But, Avery had an answer for the Christian condemners. “Spiritually god still loves me,” Avery wrote. “I love him as well! No maybe if I were super religious, there would be something to talk about but…”
Spiritually god still loves me and i love him aswell ! Now maybe if i were super religious there would Be something to talk about but …

Also, apparently, Avery previously denied being queer, leaving some fans confused. But it’s not unusual for a celebrity who is in the closet to deny it, until they are ready to come out.
I thought you said you weren’t with receiving gay energy (though you respected those who were gay) you didn’t want any parts in it personally… I’m sure you said this like a year or two ago or something recent like that.

But Avery insists he was never in the closet. It was just noones damn business until he was ready to share. “I’ve always accepted who i was,” writes Avery. “it was just none of your business until i decided to allow it to be. Don’t be that guy ! Respect people it’s important.”
See but that’s where you took the wrong turn I’ve always accepted who i was it was just none of your business until i decided to allow it to be. Don’t be that guy ! Respect people it’s important .
