Blake Shelton shares ONCE situation that could bring him back to The Voice

Blake Shelton insists he’s gone from The Voice for good after leaving the NBC competition reality show after 23 seasons. But he reveals that there is ONE situation that would entice him to return for a one off season.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the country music star chatted at the grand opening of Ole Red Las Vegas on Wednesday (April 17).

“I miss the people. I mean, those people became like family to me, literally from the crew all up to the producers of the show. I was with them more than I was with my family… I miss that,” Blake said, before adding that he doesn’t “miss the job at all.”

When the singer reached the point where he checked out while one the job, he knew it was time to move on. “I totally needed a break from that, because if I wasn’t into it then it wasn’t good for whoever was on my team. I don’t want to be someone who’s just going through the motions. Those artists need somebody fighting for them,” Blake said. “The second I started feeling like, ‘Oh my gosh, I don’t even remember what season this is anymore. Who are the coaches on this season?’ [I knew that] I needed [to get] away from here.”

Over the course of 12 years, Blake notched 9 wins. Leaving the show has been a lifestyle adjustment for Blake. But he told ET that “every day feels a little bit better,” adding, “I feel better about that decision.”

Blake Shelton would be up for a reunion of The Voice OG coaches panel

However, ONE scenario WOULD bring him back to the show. If NBC managed to get the original gang back together–Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green–he’d consider coming back for a special one off season.

“If they were ever able to put together the original four coaches again, maybe [I’d return] for one season, a one-off,” he said. “That would be fun for me… That would be something I would be interested in doing.”

However, don’t hold your breath. Christina left The Voice after winning season 10 with Alisan Porter in 2016. And she has been bad mouthing the show ever since. She didn’t send a special message during the season 23 finale, which was partially a celebration of the long time host. Unless NBC is willing to open their wallet REALLY WIDE and maybe not even–Christina is likely not to come back.
