FORMER American idols BO Bice and Lauren Alaina sERVE as celebrity judges for music event benefitting childhood cancer research
Live music show to benefit Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research
ATLANTA – American Idol alumni Bo Bice, Lauren Alaina, Haley Reinhart and Anthony Fedorov will take their turn on the judges’ panel at Rally Idol, a live music show featuring five kids affected by childhood cancer.
Rally Idol will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2014, at The Buckhead Theatre. Guests will enjoy food, drinks and inspiring musical performances. All proceeds from the family-friendly event will benefit Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research (Rally).
“I’m so excited to be a part of Rally Idol. I’ve personally seen the horrible effects of cancer – my cousin is a brain tumor survivor, and my dear friend Tori, performing in Rally Idol, has been an inspiration to me since the moment we first met!” said Lauren Alaina, who has toured with Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and Sugarland since being on American Idol. “These kids are incredible and this cause is dear to my heart. I hope everyone will join me by supporting these kids and childhood cancer research.”
In American Idol style, there will be a live band and each kid will take the stage for a performance. Then the celebrity judges will give feedback. Guests can vote throughout the evening to support childhood cancer research.
“Being involved with Rally Idol is very close to my heart. I lost my older brother Denis to Ewing’s Sarcoma,” said Anthony Fedorov, who is currently working on his debut duo EP with his fiancé. “Rally Idol is on a mission to help kids with cancer and I definitely want to be a part of that mission.”
Rally Idol is the dream of a 12-year-old girl, Emily Roach, who wanted to do something for her Rally Kid friends. Rally Kids are kids who have fought or are currently fighting cancer.
“I’m honored to be part of Rally Idol. It’s a blessing to watch a young girl’s dream to help others inspire a community to do even more. Great work Emily!” said Bo Bice, who has recently signed on as lead vocalist for Blood, Sweat & Tears. “This is going to be a special event with extremely talented performers. All to help fund childhood cancer research.”
Tickets for Rally Idol are $10 for single admission and $40 for a family pass.
“When Emily first came up with the idea of Rally Idol, it was a cute idea. But this has grown in to much more than a cute idea,” said Dean Crowe, Founder and CEO of Rally. “I am impressed that Emily has brought together these former American Idols, and even more impressed watching the talented Rally Kids perform at rehearsals. Rally Idol is sure to be an amazing show and there will be much to celebrate – Emily’s vision, stars giving back and talented kids affected by cancer pursuing their dreams.”
