Norwegian Comedian Viggo Venn wins Britain’s Got Talent 2023
Norwegian comedian Viggo Venn has been crowned the winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2023, scooping the £250,000 prize and a spot on the bill at the Royal Variety Performance.
Dancer Lilliana Clifton, 13 (Watch), and 14-year-old magician Cillian O’Connor (Watch) placed in second and third respectively.
The finale (Sunday, 4 June), which aired on ITV, featured Bruno Tonioli, Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell and Alesha Dixon sit on the panel one last time. It was a busy week, as the Top 40 performed across four nights of semi-final performances.
A total of eleven contestants performed in the finale – the top two from each semi-final as well as an extra wild card act chosen by the judges.
In his act, Viggo Venn coaxed judge Simon Cowell to wear a matching high-visibility jacket as rose petals were thrown over the pair before the whole audience also wore the vests. The audience chanted “One more time,” in reference to his first audition on the show where he danced to Daft Punk’s hit.
I guess you had to be there? This really is the act that won.
Alesha said: “You’ve captivated the nation, they love you.” Bruno added, “I think your physical comedy is world-class, you have created one of the most memorable characters since Mr Bean.” Simon said, “At least you didn’t make me look stupid tonight. I have never ever met an act like you in my life, I will admit it, I really really love you now.” When host Declan Donnelly asked why so many high visibility jackets, Viggo replied, “I wear so many high-vis because it’s really cold in Norway.” Hardeeee har har.
Here is Viggo’s audition. Still don’t get it. A joke act won Britain’s Got Talent 2023. OK then.

Susan Boyle makes surprise appearance after suffering a stroke last April
Susan Boyle made a surprise appearance during the finale, singing her 2009 audition song “I Dreamed A Dream” from Les Miserables with the cast of the West End production.
Simon said, “Susan, we owe you so much, I knew you weren’t well but if anyone was going to come back, you were going to come back, it wouldn’t be the same without you.” Susan explained on stage that she suffered a stroke last April.
