From Afterbuzz, the outlet that brought us the Caleb Johnson interview where he called his fans a derogatory slur, comes an opportunity to apologize. Caleb spoke with Afterbuzz after the Top 4 performances last night.
The entire experience, Caleb said, has been “so humbling.”
“I’m grateful as a person,” he explained, “I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the love and support of my fans. That whole interview was not in any way, shape or form, directed towards the people that love and support me.”
“The unfortunate thing about that is I used a very inappropriate comment that hurt and offended a lot of people.”
Turning to the camera, Caleb said, “Guys. I am truly and deeply sorry that I said that comment. I did not want to hurt or offend anybody.”
Having learned a “really powerful lesson” from the experience, Caleb declared, “You’ve just got to live, and move on, and learn from your mistakes.”
