Carrie Underwood covers one of her “all-time favorite songs,” Ozzy Osbourne‘s “Mama, I’m Coming Home,” for her new Apple Music Sessions EP, which was recorded exclusively for the streaming service.
“I have always been an Ozzy Osbourne fan and ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ is one of my all-time favorite songs,” the American Idol season 4 winner said in a press statement. “I’ve always thought it felt a lot like a country song, and I’ve wanted to cover it for a long time. This was a really fun opportunity for me to be able to finally make that happen. I hope we’ve done Ozzy proud and I hope he likes it.”
For the project, the superstar also recorded a new, stripped-down version of “Ghost Story,” as well as a new version of “Blown Away.”

Carrie performed with Axl Rose, set to tour in October
Carrie was in London earlier this month to promote her new album, Denim & Rhinestones.
The country singer made worldwide headlines when she she welcomed Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose as a special guest during her headline performance at the Stagecoach Festival in April.
Axl returned the favor, inviting Carrie to perform two songs during each of their July 1st and 2nd shows at the UK’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
Afterward, Carrie took to Instagram to gush about her experience. “Together again…but this time in London and with a few more friends!,” Carrie wrote. “Thanks, @gunsnroses and your crew for welcoming me into your world like family. And thanks to all the fans who gave these legends the royal welcome that they deserve!” She added, “I am but a fan who somehow managed to find her way on stage to have a moment of magic with her heroes! How did I get so lucky?”
Carrie’s Denim & Rhinestones tour, featuring Jimmie Allen, kicks off in October.
