Carrie Underwood stopped by the Ellen show this week to talk about her latest album Cry Pretty, and more. In one segment, the American Idol season 4 winner recounted her accident last November that left her with 40+ stitches and a broken wrist. Although to the average person, Carrie looks the same as always, the singer confessed that she does feel like she looks a bit different–which is why she decided to make details of the accident public.
“My biggest worry at the time was like, if I say nothing then later on… I feel like people are gonna say, ‘What has she done to herself electively?’ And it definitely was not a choice.”
“I feel close to myself,” Carrie added. “I feel pretty close to normal.”
The singer also shared details about her pregnancy. She and husband Mike Fisher are expecting a baby next year. And she knows the baby’s gender, but will keep it to herself for now. “We like to kind of just hold onto things for a minute. I feel like everyone knows just everything about everybody.”
But that didn’t stop Ellen from trying to wrangle the scoop out of Carrie. “You can tell us in a few minutes. I can probably tell you what it is. I’m good at guessing,” Ellen quipped. Also in the interview, Carrie had a pretty funny story about soon-to-be big brother Isaiah. The three year old’s favorite toy of late? A raw potato. Somebody hook that kid up with a Mr. Potato head, stat!
