In anticipation of tonight’s (Nov 13) 53rd annual CMA Awards, Jimmy Kimmel Live enlisted the help of co-host Carrie Underwood. The late night talk show travelled to Nashville and set up a bunch of hidden cameras in a boot shop. When the customers came in, the staff asked a little about them so that the American Idol season 4 winner could give them a surprise serenade.
Unsuspecting shoppers are startled to hear a familiar voice singing about them by name, describing what they’re wearing and even what items they’re shopping for. After, the singer comes out to greet the shoppers, who wind up being pretty good sports!
Carrie will co-host the CMA Awards alongside Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton when it airs on ABC tonight at 8 pm ET/PT.
The show will open with a groundbreaking number led by Carrie, Reba and Dolly, and will also feature Terri Clark, Sara Evans, Crystal Gayle, The Highwomen (comprised of Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris and Amanda Shires), Martina McBride, Jennifer Nettles, Tanya Tucker and Gretchen Wilson, each performing iconic country songs for a monumental decades-spanning medley.
