Anybody who follows Carrie Underwood’s career knows that 2017 was a difficult year. The American Idol season 4 winner and country star had an accident in November that required 40 stitches to her face, a broken wrist and a lengthy recovery.
But, as the singer tells the CBS program Sunday Morning, slipping and falling on her face outside of her Nashville home was minor stuff. Along with the accident, Carrie suffered three miscarriages–one in early 2017, another in the summer and another in early 2018. Despite the emotional rollercoaster she and her husband, former NHL Hockey player Mike Fisher were on, Carrie wrote her next album, made appearances, and raised her 3 year old son Isaiah. It really gives new meaning to her single “Cry Pretty.”
In the emotional interview, Carrie shares how she coped with the heartbreak while remaining grateful for her blessings, even as she became angry at God sometimes.
