A new episode of The Celebrity Apprentice airs tonight on NBC. Read a live recap of the episode here:
Only three contestants are left standing: Leeza Gibbons, Vivica Fox, and Geraldo Rivera. Mr. Trump will fire one more tonight and we will be left with our Final 2. Which two will battle it out on the final task? Let’s find out.
The final three are wondering what’s taking the other team so long before they get a phone call from Amanda, Mr. Trump’s receptionist. They are told to reenter the boardroom, and they greet Mr. Trump again. They find out that the other team was fired and they are the Final 3.
Mr. Trump starts asking Leeza, Vivica, and Geraldo who should be in the Final 2. They boasts about their strengths and why they should be chosen to be in the Final 2. Vivica surprisingly admits that Leeza is better than her and should be chosen over her. Vivica is also asked who is stronger between Leeza and Geraldo. She says that Geraldo can raise more money, but Leeza is a stronger leader. Mr. Trump has a lot of respect for Vivica for being honest with him. However, Mr. Trump fires Vivica Fox. That leaves Leeza Gibbons and Geraldo Rivera as this season’s final 2.
Mr. Trump tells the Final 2 that he will be sending them to Universal Orlando Resort for their last task. They must create a commercial for the park and give a presentation. They will be judged on creativity, brand messaging, money raised from selling vacation packages, and overall presentation. They will be assisted by some of the former contestants from the season. Leeza and Geraldo go back to the hotel suite and reflect on their journey to the final 2. They give credit to one another as being a tough competitor, but will give it their all to win before flying to Orlando, Florida.
Returning to assist Leeza are Kevin Jonas, Johnny Damon, and Brandi Glanville. Kevin was fired very early, so he’s back for redemption (as well as to take down his rival Geraldo). While brainstorming, Leeza says she can get Oliva Newton-John to perform for presentation day.
Returning to assist Geraldo are Vivica Fox, Lorenzo Lamas, and Ian Ziering. Geraldo is especially glad that he has Lorenzo, since he’s good at directing and would be helpful with this task. He also notes how ironic it is that Ian and Lorenzo are back to help him when he butted heads with them throughout the season. While brainstorming, Geraldo has an idea to primarily highlight the new Diagon Alley attraction in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. However, his teammates say in their confessionals how Geraldo once again steamrolls his thoughts and doesn’t listen to anyone else’s ideas.
Back at Team Leeza, they are wanting to highlight Universal Orlando Resort as the primary destination spot. Kevin is delegated as the director after coming up with an idea for their commercial. Soon afterwards, the executives stop by to visit. They want them to highlight everything the park has to offer. The executives stop by Team Geraldo too, and Geraldo comes up with an “embrace your inner hero” theme.
While scouting the park, Leeza gets a phone call from LA Rocks and will get a $120,000 donation from them. Also, Leeza and Kevin get separated from Brandi and Johnny. Leeza and Kevin are busy working, but Brandi and Johnny are away buying beer and hot dogs.
Team Geraldo are busy trying to raise as much money as possible for selling the ten vacation packages. Geraldo doesn’t think fundraising will be a problem for him. He’s confident he can raise a huge amount of money once again. Back at Team Leeza, Leeza is worried they are short on time. But Leeza gets on the phone and receives a $50,000 donation from Senior Helpers. Team Leeza celebrates, but they know Geraldo may have the upper hand when it comes to raising money. Therefore, they want to put most of their focus on the creativity aspect of the task. Kevin says Geraldo can only excel in fundraising, but Leeza is much stronger when it comes to the other two-thirds of the task.
Back at Team Geraldo, Vivica and Lorenzo are scouting the park. Lorenzo was delegated as the director and Vivica will be the assistant director. Geraldo and Ian are back at the war room working on the script. Also, Geraldo and Ian are contemplating who shall be the headline performer for them on presentation day. They want to invite Josh Groban, but asking him (or any other major performer) to perform for free won’t be easy. Back at Team Leeza, Leeza is able to get her friend Olivia-Newton John to perform for them. She also sends Brandi and Johnny to go shopping. However, Brandi and Johnny make a stop to go ride a roller coaster instead. When they return to the war room, they did not bring back any supplies. Instead, they brought back their souvenir picture from the roller coaster. Kevin is visibly frustrated with Brandi and Johnny not returning with props, especially since they already have a very busy day tomorrow.
It’s the next day and Team Geraldo gets to work on shooting the commercial. Lorenzo gets upset when he arrives and sees Geraldo already taking over and setting up shots. Lorenzo and Vivica came up with a shot list the day before, and are mad that their efforts were all for nothing since Geraldo has completely disregarded their shot list and will just be using his own. However, later in the day, Geraldo finally allows Lorenzo to direct the commercial. But a problem arises when the child actors were not present at the right location while shooting a pivotal scene. Geraldo gets really angry and says he will be directing every shot from that moment forward.
And that’s where tonight’s episode ends. Thanks for reading and tune in next week for the season finale to see who Mr. Trump crowns as the winner of The Celebrity Apprentice!
