Here’ is an unlikely collaboration. Pop star Charlie Puth remixed Gabby Barrett’s country hit “I Hope.” The two released the song at midnight today (April 17).
The American Idol 2018 alum called into the Bobby Bones Show recently to share details about the new collaboration. Initially, Charlie posted the song on his Instagram story and tagged Gabby. Later, he messaged her to say, “Hey, I want to remix this song.” Afterwards, their teams got together. “And we have a new version of the song and I’m super excited for people to hear this,” Gabby said.
“I Hope by @GabbyBarrett_ remix tonight !!!” wrote Charlie on social media. “This song is A+ songwriting and I just had to be apart of it. Thank you so much for having me on it Gabby.”
“I Hope” is currently sitting at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Airplay and Country songs charts. Written by Gabby, along with Zachary Kale and Jon Nite, the tune is also No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.
