Chris Colfer dropped by The Talk on Monday to promote the latest in his Land of Stories children’s series, Beyond the Kingdoms, which topped the New York Times Children’s Series best sellers list this week! Chris says the most satisfying aspect of the success of the series, is hearing from children who tell him that the books inspired them to read. He’s got an entire room in his house dedicated to the gifts and letters he receives from young readers.
The writer/actor/singer also enthusiastically shared a story about meeting Harry Potter author, J.K Rowling. several years ago, when the Glee cast was visiting the White House. Chris admitted that meeting her was more exciting than meeting President Obama.
Also appearing on the show was Glee guest star, Adam Lambert, who was back stage, getting ready for his segment. The singer passed along a story about Chris’ “secret talent.” Chris quipped, “Well, he’s got to be more specific!” before dishing on the Glee number where he danced, expertly, on a revolving stripper pole. “We did a scene where we danced on a stripper pole together. That was a lot of fun.” Chris added, jokingly, “I don’t think was the first time we were on a stripper pole together.”
Chris had a first time experience while out on the road recently. He gambled for the first time at the hotel casino where he stayed one night during his recent book tour. He played slots and won $25, but then lost $45. That was the end of his gambling career!
