Clark Beckham is a singer-songwriter from Tennessee who has quite a history with music. From a young age, Clark was introduced to music by his mother, and together they would often listen to songs by The Jackson Five, Marvin Gaye and Tom Jones. As a church going singer, Clark picked up the guitar from his father at the age of 12, and by the age of 15 he had mastered it and moved on to learning to play piano. With the encouragement of his parents, Clark has toured and performed at various venues and churches with a choir he joined up with. Currently, Clark studies at a university in Tennessee, while on the side he occasionally performs on the streets to help raise spending money.
Being a multi-instrumentalist, Clark describes himself as being bluesy, pop and a crooner. Clark has been greatly influenced musically by his parents. While his mother exposed him to music, his father is seen by Clark as his music icon–the singer he has learned from and has influenced him the most. Clark is also a singer on American Idol this season! Look out for him if you are a fan!

Overall Thoughts: I don’t know guys, Clark checks off a lot of boxes. If we have a WGWG winner again, I gotta say I’m pretty sure it will be Clark, but then again, Nick, Trevor and Michael can still take that title. In the end, who our token WGWG in the top 13 will be will come down to how the performances go in the live shows. Clark has a legitimate shot of taking this all though.
Song Suggestions:
- You’re Beautiful, by James Blunt. This could be a great moment for him if he does it right.
- Creep, by Radiohead. Before he took a bunch of his videos down off his channel, Clark had an EPIC version of this song! Singing from a piano, I think he could set himself apart from the other WGWGs and have a major showstopping performance!
