Crystal Bowersox drops an original Christmas tune, co-written with Maia Sharp, titled “Coming Out for Christmas.”
Download “Coming Out For Christmas” from iTunes
The bluesy tune, is more than just about coming home to the family, as the song title implies.
“The holidays are here, and it pains me to think that anyone would be left alone or be forbidden to be with their family over something as silly as their sexual orientation,” says Crystal in a statement. “I hope it will serve as a holiday anthem for people who may finally have the courage to live their life as their true authentic self, proudly and unapologetically, and that their friends and family will love and accept them with loving open arms. May we all celebrate this holiday season together, celebrate equality, and give thanks for the true spirit of Christmas- with our one human family.”
Fittingly, if you buy a New York Rock Exchange song share for 20 or 50 dollars, $1 goes to the Trevor Project, which aids LGBTQ youth. Check that out HERE. You’ll also get a free invite to an online Crystal Bowersox Q&A and concert in 2014
But in the meantime, Crystal will perform an online StageIt concert on December 5. Buy your tickets HERE.
