American Idol musical director, Michael Orland plays piano for 2nd runner-up Dalton Rapattoni as he performs the fan favorite song, “Hopelessly Devoted to You” on Wednesday’s (4/13) Live with Kelly and Michael.
Dalton performed the song during Hollywood Week and was planning to reprise it if he made the Top 2. He was eliminated before he got the chance to perform the song. If you were sad about that, here is his stripped down performance finally.
After the performance, host Kelly Ripa gushed that “Hopelessly” is an underutilized song, and that Dalton sang it beautifully. “I loved Grease,” said Dalton, “I loved Grease Live. That was phenomenal.” Grease Live is the live musical FOX telecast earlier this year.
