Season 32 of Dancing With The Stars continues tonight with a hot and spicy Latin Night!
Last week’s premiere saw Matt Walsh and Koko as the first elimination of the season after just one dance. We also won’t see pro Artem Chigvintsev in the ballroom tonight after he tested positive for COVID, so Cha Cha-ing alongside Charity Lawson this week will be troupe member Ezra Sousa.

DWTS 32 Spoilers: Latin Night Dance Styles and Song Choices
Latin Night kicks off with a group performance featuring the pros, choreographed by pro couple Daniella and Pasha!
Lele and Brandon – Samba – “Gasolina” by Daddy Yankee
Lele’s dancing felt more aggressive than natural, and this choreo leaned away from classic Samba at times. But like last week, Lele proved she’s a great dancer. And love Lele’s orange outfit!
Derek says it was spicy and she was working those hips, and the flare was there. Bruno says she was running on rocket fuel and compliments her energy, but she needs to learn how to polish the details. Carrie Ann thanks Brandon for the routine, then says Lele set the place on fire and burned it down.
Carrie Ann- 7, Derek- 7, Bruno- 7 = 21/30
Tyson and Jenna – Salsa – “Aguanile” by Willie Colón & Héctor Levoe
Okay Tyson did better than last week. Salsa is one of those dances that’s hard to royally mess up, aside from technique. I feared for Jenna’s life during that one lift and not sure whether that moment he pretended to play Jenna’s bottom ling bongos was cool or unnecessary, but other than that it was a good routine!
Bruno was already standing and clapping as they walked to the panel, and he acknowledges that Tyson worked hard and got results, and tells him to carry on like this! Carrie Ann calls it a dance glow up and says he owned the dance floor, despite being heavy-footed at times. Derek says he was a great partner but needs to loosen his legs.
Carrie Ann- 6, Derek- 6, Bruno- 6 = 18/30
Barry and Peta – Cha Cha – “Oye Como Va” by Tito Puente
Someone tell me how Barry went 69 years not dancing professionally?? I was so impressed by him once again. He had such precision in his steps and orchestrated Latin dance technique. Sometimes, I find my eyes drifting to the pro dancer, but this time I was mesmerized by Barry!
Carrie Ann compliments his natural confidence, but says this dance may not have been as good as last week before she’s met with boos. Derek says it feels good to watch him, but says he noticed him slipping at times. Bruno critiques his body stylistically, but says he loves the confidence.
Carrie Ann- 5, Derek- 5, Bruno- 5 = 15/30
Adrian and Britt – Samba – “Taki Taki” by DJ Snake featuring Selena Gomez, Ozuna and Cardi B
Britt used a lot of classic Samba steps, and it definitely looked like Adrian was trying to manage that Samba bounce, but this whole performance was lackluster. Love Britt’s outfit though!
Derek gives him props for learning a Samba (which he calls the hardest dance to learn), but calls it blocky. Bruno advises him to soften his dancing a bit. Carrie Ann compliments his athletic prowess, but the refinement is missing.
Carrie Ann- 5, Derek- 5, Bruno- 5 = 15/30
Mira and Gleb – Salsa – “Bailando” by Enrique Iglesias
This dance started out great with Mira even exhibiting some Latin motion, but once she missed a step, you could tell it through her off for the rest of the dance. This routine also felt a little slow for a Salsa.
Bruno says she’s got the body for a Salsa (wut) and says she delivered despite a couple of mistakes. Carrie Ann says her confidence is lacking throughout the dance and that makes her body lose the beat. Derek says she’s got the natural ability but she has to unleash it.
Carrie Ann- 6, Derek- 6, Bruno- 6 = 18/30
Xochitl and Val – Salsa – “Don’t Go Yet” by Camila Cabello
She may not be a dancer, but Xochitl is such a natural Latin dancer! This routine was so good! I personally would have liked more dancing in hold rather than the solo bits, but this girl might be the one to beat!
Carrie Ann calls the Salsa Xochitl’s superpower and says there was style, sophistication and storytelling. Derek says her focus helps sell the dancer and compliments her spins and the way she moves her arms. Bruno says it was a power Salsa, so hot he’s melting!
Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 8, Bruno- 8 = 24/30
Ariana and Pasha – Samba – “Me Porto Bonito” by Bad Bunny & Chencho Corleone
This was a hot Samba. A lot of technical issues but Ariana did great considering. Not a fan of the “sexy” moments that were thrown in, but the actual dancing in this was great to watch.
Derek says he was impressed by her Samba roll and she knows how to work the camera, but it lacks refinement. Bruno says he feels hot and calls her a sex goddess and it was sexy (see?), but mentions that she missed a step. Carrie Ann tells her to finish her movements and that some weren’t fully finished.
Carrie Ann- 6, Derek- 7, Bruno- 7 = 20/30
Mauricio and Emma – Salsa – “Quimbara” by Celia Cruz, Willie Colón, Johnny Pacheco Y Su Charanga
I don’t know what I just watched. It was like Mauricio was doing any old steps he felt like, and then completely missed an entire step that left Emma hanging. You can hear Emma saying, “It’s okay!” as they approach the panel. The sad part is, it started out decent.
Bruno tells him this happens to everyone on stage, and says the Latin lover was out, but then he lost his footing. Carrie Ann says it happens to the best of us and when he came back, he came back strong. Derek says his classic, “A setback sets you up for a comeback!”
Carrie Ann- 4, Derek- 4, Bruno- 4 = 12/30
Alyson and Sasha – Tango – “Can’t Remember to Forget You” by Shakira featuring Rihanna
Alyson was exceptionally better compared to last week! You can tell how hard it is for Alyson to be serious for this dance when she’s a natural comedian. The dance itself felt like it lacked content but it was enjoyable!
Carrie Ann says it was a woman empowered and sensuality, but critiques her shoulders. Derek says it was night and day from last week and says her frame was beautiful. Bruno says it was one giant leap from comedy to drama and they’ll ignore the issue with her shoulders.
Carrie Ann- 7, Derek- 6, Bruno- 6 = 19/30
Charity and Ezra – Salsa – “She Bangs” by Ricky Martin
While I’ll admit I’m definitely guilty of this at times, Charity lip syncing the whole song was so distracting. She also looked like she was thinking a lot during the dance. Ezra is a fabulous dancer though!
Derek says she did an amazing job despite the obstacle that was thrown at her, but she wants to see more connection with her partner. Bruno says she could relax a little bit more. Carrie Ann says it was elegant and clean, but looked too tight.
Carrie Ann- 7, Derek- 7, Bruno- 7 = 21/30
Harry and Rylee – Salsa – “Arranca” by Becky G featuring Omega
I know y’all want to hear about Harry but Rylee is like a mini Lindsay, except what were those arms?? Too distracting, even for a Salsa. As for Harry, he looked like he threw all technique out the window and was just having the time of his life.
Bruno says he’s disappointed Harry overdressed for the occasion in his button-up, and says he notices that Harry put the effort in despite his hip issues. Carrie Ann says it’s okay to be a beginner and they want to see him grow, and compliments him for keeping his eyes up. Derek compliments the lifts and tricks, but then says that he and everyone seems to be dancing ahead of the music tonight and tells them to come back into timing.
I generally don’t recap what they say in the sky box, but Harry just called himself a “silly sausage” and everyone died. LOL
Carrie Ann- 5, Derek- 5, Bruno- 5 = 15/30
Jamie Lynn and Alan – Cha Cha – “Shake Senora” by Pitbull featuring T-Pain & Sean Paul
She looked very lost throughout this dance. She kept looking Alan’s way for what to do next. The routine itself was content-packed, just poorly executed.
Carrie Ann says she loves seeing her having fun, but they lost a step in the middle, and what was missing was elongation of her torso. Derek says there was a timing issue, but it was a big improvement from last week as far as confidence goes. Bruno says she came out of her shell despite mistakes.
Carrie Ann- 6, Derek- 5, Bruno- 5 =16/30
Jason and Daniella – Rumba – “Quizás, Quizás, Quizás” by Andrea Bocelli featuring Jennifer Lopez
This was a much spicier Rumba compared to what you’d typically see on DWTS. Jason’s got long limbs that compliment him, which won’t be the case for every dance, but it works in a Rumba.
Derek basically compliments every aspect of the dance. Bruno compliments his hips and says it’s rare to get Cuba motion right on Week 2, but he did. Carrie Ann notices a tiny little misstep but it was exceptional for Week 2, then says, “It was oozy-oozy-yooby-yooby-ooby-jooby-choo-choo” (yes, I rewound three times to get that just right).
Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 8, Bruno- 8 = 24/30
The bottom two are… Adrian and Britt and Jamie Lynn and Alan.
The couple going home is… Jamie Lynn and Alan.
Kinda shocked but also definitely cheering. MJ will be taking over the live blogs for the next two weeks for Motown Week and Disney Night!
