Between heartwarming dances and a familiar guest judge, tonight’s episode of Dancing With the Stars is expected to be extra special!

After last week’s double elimination saw the end of the road for Reginald and Emma and Eric and Britt, tonight’s Dedication Night will end in another elimination.

Former DWTS pro Mark Ballas will join the panel as a guest judge, while judge Derek Hough will hit the dance floor with his wife and former DWTS troupe member Hayley Hough. This will be Hayley’s first time back in the ballroom since her major health scare last year.

Dancing with the Stars 2024 Dedication Night Dance Styles, Song Choices

Chandler and Brandon – Contemporary – “I Hope You Dance”

Dedicated to Chandler’s mom, Chandler orchestrated this dance beautifully. Those flowy arms! Those leaps and turns! Very motherly choreo on Brandon’s part. She’s near flawless.

Derek says it was beautiful and she has gorgeous legs extension, but notes a bobble in the lift and says the side-by-side got out of sync. Mark says they’re a joy to watch despite some bobbles, and says they should dig deeper. Bruno says it was ethereal and lyrical, like watching her in mid-flight. Carrie Ann says she’s a very talented dancer with spectacular lines, but at this point, it’s about connection and she’d also like to see her dig deeper.

Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 8, Mark- 8, Bruno- 8 = 32/40

Stephen and Rylee – Argentine Tango – “Seven Nation Army”

Dedicated to Men’s Gymnastics, Stephen’s posture and arms never disappoint. His legs need a lot of help in this one, but his fierceness during it almost makes up for it. And starting on the gymnastics equipment was perfect.

Bruno says he has determination and was focused and noticed something different happened tonight. Carrie Ann says the dance had impact and she won’t forget it, but he’s still a bit wobbly. Derek says he stepped it up and sometimes you’ve got to risk it to get the biscuit. Mark says it was a transition then gives him a tip for his frame going forward.

Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 9, Mark- 8, Bruno- 8 = 33/40

A/N can I just cut in to say how much I absolutely love seeing Mark back in the ballroom!

Danny and Witney – Contemporary – “Unsteady”

Dedicated to his late coach, it started out with Danny mostly throwing Witney around, but when Danny finally danced, he exuded the emotion.

Carrie Ann says it was a breakthrough and she applauds his commitment to being honest in the dance. Derek thanks him for coming on the show and committing to this art form. Mark compliments his strength and control. Bruno calls it honest and real and his best performance so far.

Carrie Ann- 9, Derek- 9, Mark- 9, Bruno- 9 = 36/40

Dwight and Daniella – Rumba – “Shoot For The Stars”

Dedicated to his kids, Dwight had some beautiful arms in this one. This dance was so joyful compared to your typical passionate Rumba. You can really tell Dwight puts his all into every dance. Dwights kids walking onto the ballroom at the end was the best part.

Derek says his heart is huge and he can’t help but smile when he dances, then compliments his arms. Mark says it lacked a little hip action but he did a great job. Bruno says he’s got a gentle quality, then reminds him to keep everything connected. Carrie Ann says she saw refinement with beautiful lines, then says he bounces sometimes and to be aware of that.

Carrie Ann- 7, Derek- 8, Mark- 7, Bruno- 7 = 29/40

Phaedra and Val – Rumba – “Because You Loved Me”

Dedicated to Phaedra’s mom, this dance still felt a bit one-sided with Phaedra being a bit stiff and not flowy enough for a Rumba. It was a beautiful attempt though.

Bruno says it’s a unique moment for her. Carrie Ann says this show is about growth and she saw more lightness. Derek broke his 5 paddle for her. Mark says it was elegant, beautiful, and she could put more trust in Val.

Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 8, Mark- 8, Bruno- 8 = 32/40

Derek and Haley return to the ballroom

The competition takes a pause for Derek and Hayley to perform a routine and share Hayley’s story about her health crisis.

Brooks and Gleb – Salsa – “Mi Gente”

Dedicated to Brooks’ sisters, joined by them in the dance, Brooks showed off her hipwork and gorgeous lines. Her legwork needed a little more Latin action.

Carrie Ann says she finished her moves like she suggested. Derek says the steps were a little too big but it was fantastic. Mark says she has all the elements to be a great dancer, than gives her tips on Latin dancing. Bruno says he got a hot flare and it was mouthwatering.

Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 8, Mark- 8, Bruno- 8 = 33/40

Joey and Jenna – Viennese Waltz- “Lose Control”

Dedicated to his fiancee, Joey has the best frame in this competition. He just has “it” when it comes to dance. This Viennese had a bit of a romantic vibe, understandably, being dedicated to his fiancee.

Bruno says he exceeded his expectations and he’s the king of ballroom. Carrie Ann says he’s a phenomenal dancer, then notes there was a glitchiness in the small steps. Derek says it was smooth and he enjoys watching him. Mark says he moved around the floor and he had musicality in his body as well as frame.

Carrie Ann- 9, Derek- 9, Mark- 9, Bruno- 9 = 36/40

Ilona and Alan – Rumba – “My Way”

Dedicated to her teammates, Ilona had such a gentleness in this dance. She really nailed each movement. Rumba may just be her dance!

Carrie Ann says she’s so proud and she tapped into femininity and was a refreshing dance. Derek says what happened last week unlocked something in her and she displayed the dance beautifully. Mark says it was graceful and soft and that she got back up from last week, then reminds her to over exaggerate her arms. Bruno says it was total redemption and everything was beautiful.

Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 8, Mark- 8, Bruno- 8 = 32/40

Jenn and Sasha – Foxtrot – “The Archer”

Dedicated to Taylor Swift, Jenn had so much passion in this dance. Such a beautiful Foxtrot that really made her the star. Also gorgeous dress!

Derek says it was a beautiful way to end the show, then compliments her arms and hands but critiques her shoulders. Mark says he loves how she throws her body into it but that he would’ve liked to see it smoother. Bruno says it was a Swiftietrot and notes she lost her frame at times. Carrie Ann says she trusts the process and she wants to see her take ownership of her own movement.

Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 8, Mark- 8, Bruno- 8 = 32/40
