Dancing with the Stars 2024 Disney Night Dance Styles, Song Choices

The show opens with a group number featuring the pros, troupe, hosts, and Michael James Scott from Aladdin on Broadway.

Stephen and Rylee – Charleston – “A Star Is Born” from Hercules

The majority of this dance felt so messy, but they picked it up by the end. It’s not even Rylee’s best dance never mind Stephen’s. The double cartwheel was super cool though.

Carrie Ann noted he danced off time. Derek says he loves his joy but to work on his timing. Bruno says he attacked the dance and appreciates passion but must work on timing.

Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 8, Bruno- 8 = 24/30

Jenn and Sasha – Rumba – “Kiss The Girl” from The Little Mermaid

Lacking the Latin motion but Jenn’s got beautiful lines and frame. Their partnership shines in every dance.

Derek says her confidence oozes out of her body then gives her advice on Latin motion. Bruno says it was soft and romantic, but critiques her turn. Carrie Ann says it was her best dance yet and she’s learning the technique.

Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 8, Bruno- 8 = 24/30

Joey and Jenna – Samba – “Trashin The Camp” from Tarzan

It took Joey a second to get the Samba bounce but he really nails every dance. Really fun choreo on Jenna’s part.

Bruno says Samba is one of the hardest dances and he did everything right. Carrie Ann says it felt like he was a Disney character come to life. Derek says he loved all the content in it and then asks him to work on his arms.

Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 8, Bruno- 9 = 25/40

Chandler and Brandon – Paso Doble – “We Own The Night” from Zombies 2

She also has gorgeous lines. I usually don’t care for Paso but this was a really fun one, especially when Chandler is portraying her own Disney character.

Carrie Ann says she threw down like nobody’s business and it was a passionate, powerful performance. Derek says it was everything you want to see in a Paso. Bruno says it was spot on and the artistry was there.

Carrie Ann- 9, Derek- 9, Bruno- 9 = 27/30

Phaedra and Val – Jazz – “Cruella De Vil” from 101 Dalmatians

Anyone else obsessed with Val dressed as a dalmatian? No? Just me? Phaedra made a lot of mistakes and had to keep watching Val to remember what to do next.

Derek says the dance was devilishly delightful and felt like a Broadway show, but critiques the partner sections. Bruno says she was on it in the slow sections but agreed with Derek. Carrie Ann says she loved Val’s choreography, then tells her to exaggerate the movements.

Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 8, Bruno- 8 = 24/30

Danny and Witney – Jazz – “Bye Bye Bye” from Deadpool And Wolverine

Love this concept!! I love that they literally turned it into the Deadpool and Wolverine fight. And the ending was so cute.

Bruno says they incorporated everything from the beginning of the movie in a wonderful way. Carrie Ann says his confidence is impressive. Derek says it’s another viral hit.

Carrie Ann- 9, Derek- 9, Bruno- 9 = 27/30

The competition breaks for the pros and troupe to dance to a new song from Moana 2.

Dwight and Daniella – Tango – “When Can I See You Again” from Wreck It Ralph

Dwight is an absolute joy to watch every week. He really puts his all into every dance. Loved they way they both got into character as Ralph and Vanellope.

Carrie Ann calls him an artist and says they’re at a disadvantage with the height difference and celebrates the way they got through the Tango without being in hold. Derek says it was a beautiful frame and he was impressed. Bruno says he did not wreck the Tango and he made it fun.

Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 8, Bruno- 8 = 24/30

Ilona and Alan – Jazz – “Surfer’s Pressure” from Encanto

I love that Ilona is portraying a character similar to her that she relates to. Her lifting Alan will never get old. Ilona is going at this with such ease and it’s refreshing to watch.

Derek says she’s so captivating when she dances and she embodied the character, but wanted to see her dance a little more. Bruno says he loves her determination but she can do more than that. Carrie Ann says she wants to see her continue on the trajectory she’s been on.

Carrie Ann- 9, Derek- 8, Bruno- 8 = 25/30

Chandler and Brandon won immunity from next week’s Dance-Off. It’s now time for the Team Dances!

Team Roar – “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” from The Lion King

Dwight and Daniella, Stephen and Rylee, Phaedra and Val and Danny and Witney

The Lion King-themed dances are always some of the best dances. Dwight had a blast, Phaedra actually did well. The stars dancing together was good, all things considered. Stephen and Rylee looked super cute during their solo.

Bruno says they weren’t in sync but it was great fun. Carrie Ann compliments the camaraderie but agrees it wasn’t in sync. Derek agrees with Carrie Ann.

Carrie Ann- 8, Derek- 8, Bruno- 8 = 24/30

Team Goofs – “Eye To Eye” from A Goofy Movie

Ilona and Alan, Chandler and Brandon, Joey and Jenna and Jenn and Sasha

Great song, great team, great dance! This stars solo was so much better than Team Roar’s. Each couple’s solo was much more energized as well.

Carrie Ann says it was tight and clean and brilliant. Derek says he loved the dance and complimented Ilona and Jenna’s lift. Bruno says at times he couldn’t tell which girl was the pro.

Carrie Ann- 9, Derek- 9, Bruno- 9 = 27/30

The bottom three are… Stephen and Rylee, Phaedra and Val, Jenn and Sasha

The couple going home is… Phaedra and Val
