Dancing With The Stars finale week begins Monday! Jacoby Jones & Karina Smirnoff, Alexandra Raisman & Mark Ballas, Zendaya & Valentin Chmerkovskiy, and of course, American Idol alum, Kellie Pickler and her partner, Derek Hough will have one last chance to dance, Monday, beginning at 8/7c on ABC, before the winner of the COVETED Mirror Ball Trophy is revealed on Tuesday starting at 9/8c pm.
Kellie isn’t the only American Idol connection appearing on DWTS this week. Jessica Sanchez is set to perform a cover of Pitbull’s “Feel This Moment.” Pitbull himself will perform his new single, “Hands Up.” Contestant, Wynonna Judd, will sing “I Want to Know What Love Is.” In addition, PSY will take to the stage with his latest hit, “Gentleman.” Why is Jessica singing a cover of a Pitbull song rather than her own single, “Tonight?” ETA: The song is a duet with Christina Aguilera. Jessica will likely duet with Pitbull. And Psy? AGAIN. Ergh.
The entire celebrity cast will return, including Andy Dick, Dorothy Hamill, D.L. Hughley, Wynonna Judd, Victor Ortiz, Ingo Rademacher, Sean Lowe and Lisa Vanderpump and will perform an opening number with the pro and troupe dancers.
In the final two-hour performance show on Monday, the remaining couples will compete in three rounds of dance. In the first round, each couple will take on a new routine in a dance style that the judges would like to see again. In round two, the couples will be challenged to a Cha Cha relay, where each pair dances to a different section of the same song. In the last round — and one of the biggest competitive dances of the season — the couples take on a supersized freestyle featuring special effects, additional dancers and unexpected surprises.
The fourth-place couple will be eliminated within the first hour of Tuesday’s finale, and in a final element of the competition, the three remaining couples will perform a new routine in an “Instant Dance”- where they will tackle a style they know, but to music given to them for the first time live on television. This routine will be scored out of 30 and will round out the judges’ scores across both nights.
Who is rooting for Kellie and Derek! ME. No matter what I’m doing at the time, I’ll be taking a break to vote for the couple. I would be THRILLED for an American Idol alum to win Dancing with the Stars.
