Now that Glee is finished, the series’ stars are moving on to new and perhaps greener pastures. For Darren Criss, that means a stint this summer starring in the Broadway revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Today, the actor tweeted a photo of himself in all his glam glory for the role!
He will play a limited 12-week run beginning Wednesday, April 29 through mid-July. Darren will take over the role from John Cameron Mitchell, the show’s book writer and original off-Broadway star, who plays his final performance on Sunday, April 26.
The musical centers on an East German transgender rocker searching for love and self-acceptance in America. Neil Patrick Harris won the Tony for best actor in a musical for the role. After, Andrew Rannells and then Michael C. Hall took on the role.
Darren’s first brush with Broadway came in 2012 when he performed a 3 week limited run in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
