Dancing with the Stars pro Mark Ballas and BC Jean expecting first baby
Dancing with The Stars alum Mark Ballas and his wife, BC Jean, announced they are expecting their first child.
“Lately we’ve been making new music, making birthday wishes, went to Disneyland, made more music stuff, turned off our phones and went to the beach,” they wrote alongside a video of them together that ended with BC revealing a baby bump as the two hugged.
“Also we’ve been making a tiny human. Coming soon,” they wrote.

Mark’s mother, Shirley Ballas, who is a judge on UK’s Strictly Come Dancing wrote in comments, “I am beyond excited about this beautiful announcement, I’m on a high how blessed we all are to join in your beautiful precious moment in life. Nanny shirley is more than ready to join in all these memories @bcjean @markballas”
Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba wrote “Congratulations!” while Derek Hough added, “Uncle D can’t wait!!!!” Dancer Alan Bersten wrote “So happy for you two!!! This is such incredible news! Congrats.” American Idol alum Haley Reinhart wrote “Yippie”
Mark’s Dancing with the Stars partner, Charli D’amelio wrote, “AHHHH!” The two won the most recent season of the show in the fall of 2022. Soon to be DWTS co-host Julianne Hough wrote, “Yessssssssssssss baby!!!!!! We love this baby so much already!” Val Chmerkoskiy wrote excitedly, “Love you bro!!! So happy for you and BC!!! the squad is growing !” Peta Murgatroyd who had a baby just last week with husband Maks Chmerkovskiy wrote, “So so so happy for you both!!! The best news xxxxx love you guys”

After winning Dancing with the Stars in 2022, Mark announced he would be leaving the show.
After winning Dancing with the Stars last fall with celebrity partner, Charli D’Amelio, Mark announced that he was retiring from the show. The three time Mirrorball champion announced his retirement at the Dancing with the Stars tour stop in Las Vegas on March 12.
“I’ve done 20 seasons now,” Mark told the crowd “I started this journey when I was 21, 22 and honestly being able to dance and perform for you fans—you guys are the best fans.”
“I just want to finish this by saying that this will be the last time you see me dance in this capacity. I’m coming to a close tonight. This is going to be my last dance.”
Mark Ballas and BC Jean tied the knot in 2016 after their engagement the previous year. The couple met in 2012 at a singer/songwriter event where they both performed. They started dating and collaborating shortly thereafter, forming the band Alexander Jean. Jean is best known for writing Beyoncé’s hit “If I Were a Boy.”
