Simone Biles and her Dancing with the Stars partner Sasha Farber are teaming up for an awesome reason.
Sasha guided her on the DWTS dance floor when the two competed on season 24. The two came in 4th place on their season. Now the dance pro is helping her develop a floor routine for the Tokyo Olympics.
In Episode 5 of Simone’s Facebook Watch docuseries, “Simone vs Herself” the pair are shown rehearsing together.
“Usually, I have a different choreographer, but this year I feel like we needed to be a little bit different — spice it up,” Simone said. “Even whenever I worked with Sasha on Dancing with the Stars, we always said, ‘Oh my gosh, if we could do a floor routine, how cool would that be?'”
Sasha noted, “I’m really excited because she’s really moving now,” he added, “For the first day, to be where she is already, I can’t wait to see what it’s like in months to come.”
Simone explains that as an older, experienced gymnast she is way more involved in the shaping of her routines than when she was younger. “I really care about what I wear, and how the music is, and how the dance looks.” She explains that she may be opinionated, but she knows her self at this point better than anyone.
“There’s a very sassy side to Simone that I’m really excited for people to see,” Sasha said, adding, “She moves like a dancer. No one’s just seen that yet.”
The Tokyo Olympics air on NBC and Comcast properties beginning on Friday July 23 and end on Sunday August 8.
