UPDATE from TVByTheNumbers
Fox won the night with adults 18-49 (perhaps its first fall Thursday premiere week win ever) and CBS led with total viewers. The Big Bang’s 8p premiere scored a 4.8 rating with adults 18-49, identical to last year’s 8pm premiere. But the 8:30 episode rose to a 5.0 adults 18-49 rating.
The X Factor slipped a little versus Wednesday and Grey’s Anatomy slipped a lot versus last year. Good starts for Whitney and Person Of Interest, but it was lukewarm for Charlie’s Angels and Prime Suspect.
X Factor averaged 12.07 viewers
Early ratings report from TVByTheNumbers
CBS’s The Big Bang Theory scored a 9.6 household rating in the overnight metered market ratings from 8-9p. That’s up from the 9.2 rating last year’s fall premiere 30 minute episode scored. Person Of Interest got a solid start with an 8.6 rating, though by comparison that was down from last fall’s 9.6 for CSI. The Mentalist also scored an 8.6 rating which was down 16% from last year’s 10.2 rating in its premiere.
On ABC Charlie’s Angels scored a 6.1 household rating, much better than the 3.9 last year’s quickly canceled My Generation scored. The two-hour Grey’s Anatomy drew a 7.7 household rating, down 23% from last year’s one-hour opener.
The second night of The X Factor drew an 8.1 rating, down, but only 7% from Wednesday night’s premiere. Though Fox will still be way up from the Bones/Fringe combo from last year’s fall premiere week Thursday.
