Are ya’all ready for this week’s Empire? I have already watched a screener, and can confirm that Episode 5, titled “Dangerous Bonds” is another WILD ride. In this episode, Jamal and Hakeem get new music ready. Jamal is relegated to a cheap uptown studio, while Hakeem gets a new video with all the bells and whistles. Lucious proposes marriage to Anika. Of course she says yes. Cookie spills to the Grand Jury. Her involvement, however, could definitely put her life in danger. Paranoia results.
A couple of little teasers
- We find out why Tiana is unbothered by Hakeem’s side piece. She’s just not that into HIM. Heh.
- Lucious is in charge of Hakeem’s first music video for his first single “Drip Drop.” But budgetary restraints results due to the impending IPO, results in a collaboration. Andre’s idea! In fact, his scheming sets a bunch of things in motion this week.
- Cookie makes a rash and GRAVE mistake. The repercussions are sure to ripple throughout the rest of the season.
- We meet Anika’s wealthy parents. As Terrance said in the teaser below, he proposes to Anika, but there are ulterior motives involved. Lucious and Anika’s father have a secret. We’ll see how long they can keep it.
- Thug members of Hakeem’s posse rob Jamal while he’s recording his song at a “ghetto” studio in the Bronx. Jamal naturally assumes it was Hakeem who put them up to it. But it’s not. It’s somebody else who is scheming to pit brother against brother. The same forces work to blow the lid of of Hakeem and Tiana’s successful PR relationship.
