Ludacris is the latest star to join the cast of Empire for season 2. The actor starred in the recent smash movie, Furious 7. But don’t forget his recent foray into reality TV! The actor/rapper was a judge last summer on the ill-fated ABC competition reality show, Rising Star.
Ludacris took to Instagram on Wednesday to break the news and share a photo on set with the series star, Terrence Howard, who plays family patriarch, Lucious Lyon.
Season 1 ended with Lucious being arrested and carted off to jail for the murder of his childhood friend, Bunkie. It looks like Ludacris is playing a cop of some kind. We’ll see where it leads when Empire returns to FOX on September 23.
Other guest stars joining Empire season 2 include Marisa Tomei, as Mimi Whiteman, a billionaire venture capitalist who has a taste for fine ladies, and pop singer and former X Factor judge, Kelly Rowland, who will pop in as Lucious’ mom in flashbacks. The Wire‘s Andre Royo has been cast in the recurring role of Thirsty Rawlings, the unethical and shady lawyer who works with the imprisoned Lucious. Chris Rock, Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz are also set to guest star.
